Welcome to the Self-Learning Age

Some professions require that piece of paper called a degree; such as, Lawyer—Doctor—Indian chief. Some professions, on the other hand, don’t require that piece of paper, and you can actually teach yourself!

Have you noticed that the people with no degrees are the ones making the most money, more than the rest of us who went to school?

This infographic from Udemy explains it all nicely.

It's kinda discouraging when I'm 10 classes away from a Bachelor's degree in Web Development, and I find out that college "isn't worth it" anymore… But, I can't give up, not this close.
Once I am done with college, though, I plan to continue learning, especially if I find a job in my field. I will want to know all the options out there, and when I find things I enjoy, I will want to learn everything about it that I can. Not to mention, the web/tech industry changes so fast, that you have to keep learning if you want to stay on top.

That\’s interesting, as a few months back I almost enrolled in a college program to learn programming languages such as PHP, Ruby on Rails, etc. But instead, I began teaching myself and it\’s been great! There are wonderful paid courses online. But if you can complete your degree, more power to you.

Yes, the learning never stops when it comes to web development, and that\’s what I love the most.
